Living with Chronic Pain? Check out this Free "Healthy Living with Chronic Pain" Workshop

Prepare for the holidays by making sure you feel good this Fall. Yavapai Community Health Services (YCCHS) is offering a free 6-week Healthy Living with Chronic Pain Workshop beginning next week. Workshops are facilitated by two trained facilitators, one or both of whom have a chronic pain themselves. This fun, interactive workshop will offer a variety of different activities and provide tools to improve your quality of life.

Yes, Flu Season is a Thing.

With flu season right around the corner, U.S. health officials are urging everyone to get their flu shot now so they'll be protected from the potentially serious complications of influenza. Yavapai County Community Health Services has received their shipments of the ’17-’18 flu vaccine – and they are ready to schedule appointments now. The flu season for 2017-2018 is expected to run from October 2017 through May 2018 with the peak four-month period being December through March.

Yavapai County WIC Awarded for Outstanding Breastfeeding Support

Yavapai County WIC is one of six Agencies in the United States and U.S. Territories to be awarded the Gold Premier Award from Loving Support©. Yavapai County Community Health Services was the only agency in Arizona to qualify for this award, along with agencies in California, Washington and Idaho. Loving Support© Makes Breastfeeding Work is the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) national breastfeeding promotion and support campaign. Education, training and outreach materials are provided for staff of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). Read more

Beaver Creek School Awarded Top Honor by Yavapai Healthy Schools

On May 25th, the Yavapai Healthy School (YHS) partnership presented their top honor of Yavapai Healthy School of-the-year to Beaver Creek School District.  Micca Martinez, Special Programs and Wellness Coordinator of Beaver Creek School District was on hand to receive the award.  According to the Yavapai Healthy Schools Partnership Coordinator, and Yavapai County Community Health Services Section Manager Carol Lewis, "Beaver Creek School is being recognized for investing in the health and wellness of the school community and always going the extra mile for their students."
